Aam Aadmi Party

Aam Aadmi Party, a party that didn’t exist 15 months ago, a party which has proved that elections can be fought honestly and a party which was chosen by the people of Delhi as an alternative to the BJP and the Congress.

The man behind the victory, Arvind Kejriwal was an income tax officer, an RTI activist and now a political leader who believed that people will trust the honest. There were people (political leaders) who didn’t take him seriously when he disclosed scam after scam but harangued that disclosing scams cannot get you votes. Arvind Kejriwal, who was tenacious to change the way politics work, didn’t even have enough money to campaign for elections. He started raising funds for it. Even though the response was mild initially, it has picked up day by day and he received funds from some unexpected corners.

The people of Delhi, who are being bilked by the leaders, have proved that politics is not about caste, region or religion but honesty. One more important point to note is, Delhi has 4 Lakh first time voters who obviously are young and are hoping for a change in the way the system works. This also has worked in favor of not only AAP but also BJP, whose PM candidate is popular among young Indians.

Can we emulate the same in other states? I hate to say this, but Indian voters are more inclined to caste, region and religion. We have to come out of that state of mind and vote for a change. I have seen many people saying that I am going to vote for this person because he is from my community. This has to change and Delhi has proved that this can change.

Hoping for a better tomorrow and eagerly waiting for the next general elections.
